Victor H. Mair, ed. Honolulu, University of Hawaii Press, 2003. 9+1505 pp. 370,000 entries.
This work is an alphabetically arranged index to the Hanyu Da Cidian, an encyclopedic 12-volume dictionary, plus a one-volume Chinese index based on the stroke-order index of characters that is exceedingly difficult to use for looking up particular entries. The pinyin index in the Hanyu Da Cidian Cimu Yinxu Suoyin greatly facilitates finding terms contained in this great dictionary.
